BHM: Defy the Ordinary

Fewh! The Winter Olympics are over. But, they are important to some people, and in the grand scheme of things...the next three people I profile have etched their name in the history books as the FIRSTS in Olympic history.

1. Congrats to Shani Davis, despite all the controversy, you are now "the first black man to individually GOLD in an event." Torino, 2006

2. Big-ups to Vonetta Flowers who was "the first black to GOLD ever," with her bobsled partner Jill Bakken. Salt Lake, 2002

3. Trailblazing Debra Thomas was "the first black to ever win an Olympic medal." The beautiful Thomas Bronzed in figure skating. Calgary, 1988
