How to move to a new home stress free

I just moved (again)!

To my dream location in the city.
(Another testament to dreaming, believing and achieving!)

Post compliments of Roadway Moving
But as moves are, it was extremely stressful.
In the past I had my parents to help.
This time I did it all on my own - hired the movers, packed and unpacked.
(Ugh! I'm so sore.)

But for someone like me, someone who loves organization, moving and cleaning your new home can be extremely therapeutic. It's a side effect I've just noticed...besides a sore back, knee and hip.

Now, I can't give you any tips about avoiding soreness, but here's a guide on how to reduce your stress while moving.

60 Days Before You Move:
Start strategically planning your move, step-by-step, to alleviate the stress of last-minute packing and planning. Think about holding a garage sale before your move to help reduce the amount of stuff you're bringing to your new home.

30 Days Before You Move:
1. Check with your mover to confirm every last detail regarding what everyone's roles are for move in day.
2. Confirm with your moving company that they will be able to connect/disconnect cable, internet, electric and any additional services you're using.
3. Create a packing/unpacking plan for your move in day.

14 Days Before You Move:
1. Begin cleaning out any rooms in your house that haven't been emptied yet, making sure to not leave anything unpacked.
2. Collect all of your most valuable belongings, (such as jewelry) and keep them separate from the rest of your packed belongings.
3. Continue to do so up until move in day.

Move in Day:
1. Unpack the necessary items you will need for your first night in your new home (i.e. toilet paper, bottled water, snacks, towels, etc.).
2. Take inventory of all boxes that were picked up and delivered to your new home, making sure everything is there before the movers leave.
Following this checklist will not only simplify your move, but it will ensure that nothing goes missing in the process.

  1. In fact, not so easy to move to a residence in the new house in one day. We need to plan everything in advance and order the transportation of items in good company such as this https://movers.best/residential-movers/house-movers/ and in such cases it is possible to have time to get everything done in one day.

  2. I love moving. The stress takes my mind off of other stresses in life! And also its a great chance to filter through the old things to make room for the new!

Making the journey to a new state can be exciting, but can also leave you with feelings of alienation and homesickness. There are many things to consider before making an out-of-state move, especially whether the move is the right choice for you.

Some people live in the same place their entire lives, never leaving the comforts of their hometown. However, there are times when we have no choice but to move, mostly for work reasons or family reasons.
