Hawaii's Garden Island from the air!

Hawaii is one of my all-time favorite places in the world!

So I took a helicopter ride with Island Helicopter Tours. Taking a chopper ride is the only way to see the entire island. Only 3% of the island is developed for commercial and residential use; and the nearly 70,000 residents live on the coasts.

The island remains a natural beauty because of some laws put in place to keep it lush. Like, no structure can be built more than four stories high, which is analogous to the height of a mature coconut palm tree.

Kauai is also a very popular island for Hollywood films. More than 70 movies have been filmed on Kauai, including Blue Hawaii (1961), King Kong (1976), Jurassic Park (1993), Avatar (2009), The Descendants (2011), and the recent feature film Jurassic World (2015).

Here's my video of the island tour for USA TODAY.
