Epic Prom Moments Revisited

First of all, I am just going to go on the record here and say I definitely had the most heinous prom look in the history of, well, ever.

I'd have been SO much happier in this gown vs. the 80's blue organza my mom picked out!

It was 1989. I found a pink cocktail length fitted sequin gown, and my mom put the kibosh on that, pronouncing it "too grown-up". She ended up choosing my dress in her favorite color (crayola blue), and it was awful. And I wore white lace Madonna-style gloves with it. AND really, really big rocker hair. AND about 5 pounds of makeup. Sigh.

I love prom time though. As a makeup artist, it is one of the busiest times of the year for me. I love seeing all the girls' gowns, (suffice to say they have much better taste than I did), and the dresses nowadays have awesome features like pockets (seriously, is there anything better?).

Here, some of the best prom moments ever.  Enjoy, and send us your own prom dapper designs (or disasters)...you just might be featured on our site!

If you follow fashion, you saw this go viral. Teenager Kyemah McEntyre was SO over being bullied, and fought back like a classy woman does - by designing and wearing this gown to her prom.

Molly Ringwald's character in Pretty in Pink upcycled a prom gown out of two old gowns. She was THE teen queen when I was growing up, and though this dress isn't all that great, she really could do no wrong in our eyes.

Ahem. Rosalyn created her gown out of duck tape (33 rolls, 127 hours of work). Apparently the company runs a contest each year, and the winners receive cash and are posted on their site. There's still time to enter for this year. Go to: http://stuckatprom.com/

Napoleon loved Deb's sleeves (They were "real poofy"). Enough said.

So ok, Josie was dancing (and falling in love) with her teacher, but it's actually a dreamy love scene because she's an undercover reporter and they're the same age. "Never Been Kissed" is always a winning rom-com.

Besties Romy and Michele were each other's prom dates, with a very 80's influence.

Rose McGowan wears an epic hair crown when she wins prom queen in JawBreaker. The downside is, she also gets exposed as the murderer of her best friend. Bummer.

Teen Maura Pozek created this dress from Doritos bags! Past prom dresses she's created have been from soda tabs and cardboard. I am blown away by her creative brain!

So...what did I miss? Any prom faves that I've left out? Comment below or email us and fill us in!!!
