You won’t believe these travel trends!

Summer vacations have been popular since the early 1900’s. As soon as school lets out, hordes of families have made their way to coastal beaches, the lakes of the Midwest, and visiting out of town relatives. New trends are popping up in the world of travel, and beginning to catch on like crazy.

Check these out:

Adult Summer Camps

Adult camps (such as Camp No Counselors) can be found all over the US and Canada. Just like the camps you attended as a kid, you’ll find activities like tug of war, archery, and friendship bracelet making. Followed by…theme parties each night with an open bar? I just can’t. Not even if it was free.

Ghost Towns

Also Read: Abandoned Places

These towns popped up post gold rush when people abandoned them for more profitable areas. People are now gravitating (I’m guessing mainly due to simple human curiosity) to these areas (you can find them all across the USA!) instead of the usual theme parks. I’m a Disney girl myself, but I am definitely going to be checking out some ghost towns soon!

Cross Country Van Trips

People are vacationing in (and sometimes living in) upfitted cargo vans, heading across country and experiencing the US like each state’s natives: sampling local diners, and generally immersing themselves in the culture.

Honestly, it sounds pretty miserable to me, but I’m not a lover of road trips.

How many of these trips would you try?
