How Do You Know When You've Found The One

No matter how independent you might be, there may be a little part of you that wonders if you can find ‘the one.’
The elusive soul mate that you have been looking for could be out there waiting for you, but how will you know when you’ve found them? In previous relationships, you may have ended things because you did not see a future with that person. However, if there isn’t such a thing as love at first sight, when do you know whether there is any point pursuing a relationship? Love and dating issues aside, finding the one can become tricky if this is all that you are fixated on. Check out these tips to see if they help you to know if you have found the one.

You Won’t Have To Pretend
Everyone tends to be on their best behavior when they meet a potential partner for the first time. The enjoyment of a first date can leave us giddy with excitement. However, after a while this facade naturally slips into your normal everyday self. If you are finding that you cannot be true to yourself and you are pretending to be someone you’re not for fear of offending or losing your partner, then this isn’t the human being for you. Pursue this sort of relationship, and before long, you’ll be married and then heading straight to see a divorce lawyer as you discover that you are incompatible.

They Will Understand You
Sometimes you don’t even understand you, so how can anyone else? And yet, the one will. For some reason, they will know when you are feeling down and will run you a hot bath without even asking. They’ll listen to you when you have had a rubbish day at work and need to rant, and they’ll be there if you need a shoulder to cry on. They’ll be your biggest supporter, and will endure you practicing that important presentation for the hundredth time. The one will be your biggest cheerleader and will love you for who you are.

You’ll Be Friends
After the initial lust phase of a relationship has come to an end, you need to work out whether you are friends. Those people who state that they have married their best friend may seem a little weird to you, but this is a great foundation for a relationship. Being friends means that you will have someone to turn to for advice, you will love one another despite the flaws, and you won’t try and change the other person. You will click in such a deep way, that even a ordinary walk in the park could seem like mammoth adventures.

You shouldn't shut mates and partners out of your life even if they are not the one. However, it’s good to have some sort of sense of what it could feel like when you do come across someone who can be your perfect life partner.
