Event: Party in the AM Before You Go to Work
I found out where all the cool kids play...but you have to get up early in the morning to find them.
Daybreaker lets you workout, eat and party all at the same time...and all before you head to work on a weekday!
Trust me! You've never seen anything like it.
what is it
It's the hottest new party in Atlanta (and possibly in a town near you.) Young professionals gather to dance, network, and have a good time. Oh, but forget about the alcohol. It doesn't matter, though... you can get high off of the complementary healthy snacks, juices and coffee.
I went to the monthly event in Atlanta, but Daybreakers can literally be found all over the world!
how it works
Starts with a yoga session from 7am to 8am, led by Chelsea Jackson. *I skipped that part. Don't judge. But I was told about 25 dedicated souls came out!
And then there is literally a party from 8am until 10am!
The soulful morning beats were brought by DJ Tabone and live band, the Jiva Trio led by the incomparable talent, Khari Simmons.
Poet Amena Brown blessed with some morning inspiration. There were impromptu dance-off's, and people walking around handing out pom-poms and party hats.
Fresh coffee, juice, Honest Tea, KIND breakfast snacks, and coffee from Atlanta Coffe Roasters we on hand, for free, to help you re-fuel.
This month's event was at The Sound Table.why you should do it
If you've made a resolution to change your life, there couldn't be any better first step than this. Even if you come in the door with inhibitions, they will all flush away because the energy is so infectious.
why I loved it
This is one of those events that makes you feel alive.
When you do something like this first thing in the morning...like literally party, you feel like you have a little secret or are winning life a little bit more than the rest by the time you walk into work.
Oh...and they handed out this cool inspirational message that I almost ignored. But luckily...we all stopped and read it out loud. It's the perfect way to live.
The master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence at whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both. The only thing that sucked...
...was the getting up early in the morning. But I quickly got over that. The pay off is well worth it!
