Room Tour: Cheeca Lodge & Spa in Islamorada
Who doesn't love the Florida Keys?!While many people travel to Key West, have you ever made a stop in Islamorada?
Islamorada means "Village of Islands", is one the best places in the the states for lovers of deep sea fishing. Locals brag about it being one of President George W. Bush's favorite stops.
So, of course, with a big reputation, there has to be some fancy digs for visitors to stay.
On my visit, I stayed at Cheeca Lodge & Spa.
This beachfront resort is on 27 acres and is 5 miles from Windley Fossil Reef Geological State Park.
Rooms with island-style decor come with free WiFi, flat-screen TVs, DVD players, coffeemakers and balconies; some also have minifridges. Suites feature rainfall showerheads and oversized tubs, and some have pull-out sofas and kitchens.
Amenities include a water-sports facility, a fishing pier, a 9-hole golf course, 6 tennis courts and a fitness center. There's also a kids' center, 2 heated pools with cabanas, a spa and multiple restaurants. A daily resort fee applies.
