White pro-slavery Missourians cross into Kansas to help establish a pro-slavery state Legislature by voting illegally.

1870
Upon ratification of the Fifteenth Amendment, it guarantees Blacks the right to vote. It states that the right to vote shall not be denied because of "race, color, or previous condition of servitude"

1941
The Urban League sponsors it's first radio broadcast urging equal opportunity for all Blacks in the defense industries.
