Go Live the Life

I've got the opportunity of a lifetime, so I took leave from my life in Atlanta, withdrew a significant part of my savings, and purchased a ticket to the UK.
The local media has called it my "first international assignment", and Wow what a task to take!
I'm going to help with CNN's coverage of the World Cup and Wimbledon.
(By the way, these are two of the worlds biggest sporting events.)

I am so excited, but nervous at the same time. I am truly going by myself, and will navigate the foreign land on my own.
I hope to prance the high streets, see the sites, mingle at the posh events...all that this trip has to offer!

I'm even going for a change with my look. Normally I have to remain ultra-conservative for my on-air tasks in the states. Look! Like my natural? I'll be contributing some on-air packages back to the states, so I'm taking a risk. But, why can't I wear my hair the way it comes out my head? Should I really have to compromise because it makes others uncomfortable? I should have the right to be just who I am! I digress...

See ya across the pond!
