Do it 100: Why You Should Be Dressing Up

Coco Chanel once said, “Dress shabbily and they remember the dress; dress impeccably and they remember the woman.”

As the decades pass, comfy casual has become the norm for many people (even at work!) - but you'll find there are many reasons to pay attention to what you wear.

The way you look plays a big part in how you are treated. Seriously! Check out the psychology of dressing well, or try it out for yourself and see how people react to you.

Project Runway Alum Matt Sarafa is all about dressing up. (Even on a vacay to the tropics!)

I recently asked American designer and Project Runway Junior Alum Matt Sarafa about dressing up.

Designer Matt Sarafa

Matt is known both for his fashion creations and his knack for dressing himself - think over-the-top chic. Here's what he said: "I think dressing up is a fun way to express yourself creatively. For me, fashion is like a suit of armor that I can put on and instantly feel better because I love the creative thrill of putting together an outfit that I know I'm going to rock. I'm a big believer in the phrase 'If you feel good, you look good', and fashion definitely makes me feel great!"

Matt is often seen in what I call "over-the-top chic". And he wears it SO well!

My BFF Stacey is one of the best dressed women I know. She's got a good eye for knowing what works well on her body type, and is a big believer in accessories. She is always dressed perfectly for every occasion.

Stacey and I have decided that one can never go wrong in a tutu dress!

My bestie's tip for showing up to an event in designer clothing on a budget? She uses Rent the Runway. It's a fab website that allows you to rent expensive designer dresses and clothing at an affordable price. Check it out for yourself!

My bestie attends oodles of weddings and events. The above dress was talked about for months afterwards!

  1. You forget about your youth because there is no one except for studying for another time, and for this I advise all students to have an easy essay writer, an assistant on which any written work is done
