Standing in the shadow of the moon: VIP Solar Eclipse Experience with NASA

The Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute in Rosman, NC invited a

very select group of officials, scientists, representatives of NASA and NOAA, journalists and amateur astronomers from around the world to experience the once-in-a-lifetime eclipse from the path of totality in western North Carolina.

Established in 1962, NASA chose this scenic location in Transylvania County to establish the East Coast satellite tracking station. This was when the U.S. Space program was very new.

50 years later, NASA has returned to PARI, and the it is no coincidence that it’s for the total solar eclipse.

This is once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Literally, once-in-our-lifetime. This is the first total solar eclipse to cross the entire United States in almost 100 years.

And now, the equipment is better and of course, scientists are going crazy!

So, yeah! When I got the invite, there was no choice as to where I would experience the event.

Check out my latest Extraordinary Experience!
But first, some photos!

I got this outfit in Bali nearly two years earlier. When I was getting ready in the morning, I knew it was the perfect outfit!
there were wine and snacks waiting for VIP guests at the top of the hill - the viewing center
This was probably the most epic capture of the day. During the total eclipse, there were an apparent 360° sunset. We were covered in the shadow of the moon, and the sun rays were pushed out all around us!

What are your memories of the eclipse? Let us know and we'll post it here!
