Foldable backpack

This always seems to show up on my lists each year. This go around I’m feeling the Arkadia Supply Company’s Alta 21 Pack.

First, the company has a cool story - they started as a kickstarter campaign. But, the highlight of this bag is that the top removes to a bum bag or fanny pack. And the the 21L bag is 100% waterproof, but condenses down to a small pouch that fits in your hand. SHOP HERE

Travel speaker

Lately, I’ve been obsessed with rocking out to my own tunes while on the road. But, carrying a large and bulky portable speaker wasn’t an option. The new Bose SoundLink Micro Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker has been a wonderful addition to my permanaet packed bag. It’s small and fairly thin (Dimensions : 3.87 Height X 3.87 Width X 1.37 Depth), but packs all the power that Bose is known for. I love the clip attachment - it is strong, but flexible, so it can be used on everything from a bike to a backpack. It’s also waterproof, and the can be used as a speakerphone. SHOP HERE

Travel sunglasses

I can’t be trusted with sunglasses. I’ll lose them, break them, drop them in the ocean. However, Foldies, with their innovative design, save me from some of these issues. They lenses are scratch resistant and polarized to block 100% UVA and UVB radiation. The folded design allows them to literally fit in your pocket and the makes them stronger, so you won’t break them. SHOP HERE

Foldable cup

Space saving items are essential. And as I am learning how to be a better zero waste traveler, bringing a my own cup for drinks on the plane has been a special addition to my carry-on. I have the OZARK TRAIL Lightweight Collapsible Hiking Cup Mug. It is made of durable, BPA-free silicone, and is 16 oz when expanded. But, obviously the best part is that it collapses to a flat circle. So, it is no sweat to pop it open and ask the flight attendant to fill my cup with water, instead of using one of those single-use plastic cups! SHOP HERE

Food to go

When I’m at home, it’s easier to eat right because I get in a routine of preparing my food and having it available at my disposal. When on the road, you can only prepare so much, but the rest of the time you are at the mercy of whatever is available. This is why most people who travel for a living have a hard time maintaining a healthy diet. Well, lately I have been packing Huel. Huel is a 100% vegan powdered meal. But, this is different than typical smoothie shakes. All you need is water, and you can have a high in protein and fiber shake, made from real food. Huel meal powder contains a carefully chosen blend of pea and rice protein, oats, flaxseed, sunflower seeds, and coconut. So, I take a few scoops with me, so that if I’m ever in a pinch, I know that I have a nutritional meal at my disposal. Just add water! SHOP HERE
