Luxury in Cabo at Hacienda Encantada

Top hotels in Cabo

Baja California Sur is a popular Mexican destination, especially for west coasters.

Los Cabos, in particular, is a hot spot for Spring Break. Tons of celebs are
regularly spotted here – including Jennifer Aniston, John Mayer, Cameron Diaz,
Drew Barrymore, and more.  Hacienda Encantada Resort & Residences
offers an all encompassing experience that will cater to your lifestyle needs.
From families to adult-only getaways, you can craft out a vacation that’s full of
adventure or one that is relaxed with nothing to do on your agenda.

WHY THIS PLACE IS SPECIAL

I’m always looking for places that are beyond the usual. Hacienda Encantada
offers a luxury version of the all-inclusive model. Typically, when you think of
all-inclusive, you expect mediocre food experiences and cardboard cut out
on-property activities. But, here, though they do offer your typical grab-and-go
fast food options at the poolside restaurants, they are upgraded renditions of
regional Mexican Food, American and even Sushi!

Here’s the nuts and bolts:

THE PROPERTY

Hacienda Encantada is located 30 minutes from the airport and 10 minutes from
downtown Cabo San Lucas. There are several phases of the property - which is
all luxury - ranging from typical hotel rooms to suites and villas. This makes the
resort huge and can be overwhelming for some. However golf carts are available
approximately every 10 minutes during the most active hours of the day. The
hotel is currently part of an ongoing construction project that will expand two
more phases, and has a timeshare ownership model. Of course, I participated in
the typical room rental. Hacienda Encantada offers the European Plan - just the
hotel room only- and the all-inclusive plan - where dining at the property’s
restaurants is included in your resort fees.

THE ROOMS

You can pick how big you want your room - from standard size, to four bedroom
suites. And no matter the size, the luxury details are not compromised. My stay
was at the El Encanto in a deluxe King with pool and ocean view.

THE FOOD

There’s not a bad view at all on property and the restaurants are strategically
placed so you can always eat with a view. There are eight onsite, but you can
also take the free shuttle that runs every two hours from the property to the
marina in Cabo to dine out at the variety of selected restaurants in the Golden
Zone at the Cabo San Lucas Marina.(Dine out privileges come with the
all-inclusive plan.) This is an awesome benefit to gives you a bit of freedom to
dine off the resort.

During my stay we ate at Los Deseos Restaurant, where the chefs prepared a
feast full of local dishes. But, the one that’s worth writing back home to is the
preparation and then consumption of the three cheeses tacos.

THE EXPERIENCES

You can opt spend your days wading in the  three outdoor pools, but it may be hard to just do nothing. The activities director, Fernan, will likely charm you to participate in the many social activities they have from morning to evening.
